Question: What is CPO? Answer: CPO stands for Culture Philippines of Ontario. It is a cultural and non-profit organization with the main objective to retain and to share the Filipino cultural heritage.
Question: How does CPO share the cultural heritage? Answer: By show casing the cultural dances and songs in various community affairs such as Carassauga, Filipino Day at Wonderland and invitations from specific groups and organizations.
Question: Who can be a member? Answer: Membership is open to all Canadian citizens and/or Canadian residents who are eighteen years or older. Persons below eighteen can be considered members provided their parents sign up to be a member.
Question: How much is the fee? Answer: The fee is prescribed by the Board of Directors. It is due upon application on or before September. Membership fees are non-refundable.
Question: Do I need to renew my membership every year? Answer: Yes. Membership is only valid for each fiscal year from October to September.
Question: When am I going to perform once I become a member? Answer: The Artistic Director determines the readiness of the member to perform.
Question: How can I be a member? Answer: You can become a member by filling up the application form and submitting it personally to the CPO Membership Committee. The CPO Membership Committee will review the application form and explain the responsibilities to you. Payment of the membership fee should be done upon registration.
Question: When do I need to register? Answer: Registration period is determined by the Board, usually from September to November.
Question: Is there any other organization CPO is affiliated to? Answer: CPO is an independent organization. However, CPO supports other organizations such as Kalayaan, Gawad Kalinga, etc.
Question: Where do you get your funds from? Answer: From the membership fees, Carassauga, Wonderland, other shows, and from our generous sponsors.
Question: How to become a sponsor? Answer: CPO will gladly accept sponsorship to fund its activities. Sponsorship forms are available on this site by clicking on Sponsorship.
